Butterflies is our Grade R class and the final step before formal primary school. Our private Grade R programme is recognised by all schools, and the year is built around the CAPS curriculum with a strong emphasis on school readiness – literacy, numeracy, concentration, independence and social confidence.
Children work with letters, sounds and early reading, number concepts, and structured group work, alongside daily creative, physical and outdoor activities. We continue to build on manners, responsibility and problem-solving so that each child leaves Happy Valley confident, capable and genuinely excited about starting "big school".
Termly progress reports and ongoing communication with parents ensure a smooth, well-supported transition to Grade 1.
