The Bugs class builds on everything our children have learned in Grasshoppers, moving into a more structured school day while keeping plenty of room for play. The class follows the CAPS and ELDAS curriculum with a daily Morning Ring, themed activities, story time, art and outdoor play in our own separate playground.
By this age most children are fully potty-trained, and we place a strong focus on independence – getting dressed, packing away toys, and following a two-to-three step instruction. Group activities encourage sharing, turn-taking and early friendships, while one-on-one attention helps each child build confidence at their own pace.
Fine motor and pre-writing activities are introduced through fun, hands-on tasks, laying the groundwork for the more formal Grade R preparation that follows in Dragonflies and Butterflies.
